The country also has numerous excellent beaches and resorts, including the famous Maiquetia and Puerto la Cruz. The scenic Morrocoy Coral Reef, Isla de Plata (coral island) and the Cueva del Guácharo (cave), famous for its oilbirds, are also worth visiting. Visitors can also enjoy a range of exciting adventures like mountain trekking, mountain biking, paragliding and scuba diving.
Access: Many airlines including British Airways, Lufthansa and United Airlines operate direct flights to Venezuela from various destinations in Europe and US. Cargo ships from ports on the Gulf of Mexico also connect Venezuela with the US. There are excellent road links between Venezuela, Brazil and Columbia.
Climate: Venezuela has a hot and humid tropical climate, which varies according to altitude. It has two seasons, a dry season (December to April) and a rainy season (May to December).
