The capital city of Montevideo is famous for its colonial architecture and fine white-sand beaches including the Playas and Miramar. Access: PLUNA, Uruguay’s national airline, operates direct flights to Argentina and Brazil, which in turn are well connected by air with the rest of the world. High-speed ferries operate from the capital Montevideo and Colonia to Buenos Aires (Argentina). Regular buses also run between Montevideo and Porto Alegre (Brazil).
Climate: Uruguay enjoys a subtropical to temperate climate, with pleasant summers and winters. The summer season lasts from December to March with January being the hottest month with average temperatures ranging between 22 °C and 25°C. July is the coolest month of the year, with temperatures ranging between 11°C and 13°C.
