Tourist Attractions: Slovenia’s natural and architectural beauty is what attracts tourists the most. The unique Lake Cerknica that is actually a field above a collapsed cavern full of sinkholes, potholes, siphons and tunnels, which gets flooded and the Kočevski Rog with its six virgin forests are major tourist features in Slovenia. Other great tourist spots include the Predjama Castle, perched in the centre of a cliff with splendid views over the valley, and the underground Skocjan Caves that can be visited via an artificial tunnel especially built for this purpose. Adventure lovers throng the Triglav National Park for climbing and hiking through the Julian Alps. A trip to the scenic Adriatic Coast is a must for all tourists.

Access: Slovenia has international flights linking it with all of Europe and Israel. There are also rail networks from Italy, Netherlands, Austria, Croatia and Salzburg as well as numerous international border crossings. A weekend catamaran sail operates between Italy and Slovenia from April to mid-October.

Climate: The climate varies in different parts of the country with the coastal region having a Mediterranean climate and the inlands having a continental climate where the summers are mild to hot but the winters get a little chilly.
