The islands are known for their unspoiled natural beauty, scenic landscape, virgin beaches and crystal clear waters. Tourist attractions include the picturesque capital of Sao Tome, known for its colonial Portuguese architecture, and the scenic town of Trinidade, famous for its Pico Sao Tome (peak) and Cascadas de Sao Nicolau Waterfall nearby. Ilhéu das Rolas Island (Turtledove Island) and Lagoa Azul (Blue Lagoon) are famous for their beaches and diving spots. Like Sao Tome, Principe is also popular for its scenic beauty and distinctive colonial architecture. Visitors can also enjoy activities like hiking and birdwatching.

Access: Air Sao Tome and Principe, a subsidiary of Air Portugal, operates regular flights between Sao Tome and Libreville (Gabon), from where one can take a connecting flight to Europe. Air Portugaloperates direct flights from Lisbon. There are also boat services between Libreville and Doula.

Climate: Sao Tome and Principe enjoys a hot and humid equatorial climate with heavy rainfall for most of the year. It has a rainy season for most of October to May. The dry season is from June to late September and again from late December to late January.
