Tourist Attractions: Saint Lucia is an exceptionally beautiful volcanic island in the Caribbean. The second largest of the Windward Islands, Saint Lucia is known for its scenic mountain ranges and lush tropical forests with an amazing variety of plants and animals. Tourists can visit the towns of Castries and Soufrière, famous for their natural beauty and French colonial charm, Pigeon Island National Park, known for its 18th century archeological sites and wildlife, the 19th century Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Marigot Bay, famous for its palm-fringed beach and watersports, and Malgretout Waterfall, known for its warm volcanic waters. Other tourist attractions in St. Lucia include the spectacular volcanic cones of Gros Piton and Petit Piton, Diamond Waterfalls and Sulphur Springs. The island also offers ideal conditions for sailing, swimming, yachting, windsurfing, water-skiing, scuba diving, and birdwatching.

Access: Many airlines operate direct flights to St Lucia from Europe, USA and Canada. A high-speed catamaran service also operates between St Lucia and Dominica. St Lucia is also served by a number of cruise lines with Castries being the major port of call.

Climate: Saint Lucia has a hot tropical climate tempered by northeast trade winds almost all round the year. It has two seasons, a dry season (January to April) and a rainy season (May to November).
