Tourist Attractions: Pakistan is governed by a military dictatorship and tourists should be careful while traveling near the border areas and the areas prone to sectarian violence such as Punjab Province, Waziristan, northern and western Baluchistan, NWFP, and the Federally-Administered Tribal Areas and Agencies. Despite the problems of Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism, Pakistan remains a beautiful country to visit. Principal tourists attractions include Mohenjodaro and Harappa, the ancient city belonging to the Indus Valley Civilization, the Chaukundi Graveyards, famed for their impressive tombs and mausoleums covered in intricate designs. The Khunjerab Pass located in Khunjerab National Park has exotic wildlife on view, along with the Nathiagali forests and Takht-i-Bahi ruins. The Karakoram Highway is a scenic drive at a great height.

Access: Internationals flights from Asia, America and United States land at the airport in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Gwadar. Rail links exist from India and Iran to Pakistan. Those interested in traveling by sea can board passenger ships from either India or the Middle East to reach Pakistan.

Climate: The climate in Pakistan is generally very hot in the summer months, especially the southern inland area. The Northern Areas become very cold in winter, with heavy snowfall from December to February. The coastal regions of Pakistan have a moderate climate with hardly any rain.
