Tourist Attractions: Nepal has been beset by civil unrest between the autocratic King and the Maoist rebels; hence travel in some parts of Nepal may be fraught with danger. But the small Himalayan kingdom is an enchanting country. The most obvious tourist attraction is Mount Everest, the world’s tallest mountain as well as the serene Pokhran Lake. The Royal Chitwan National Park offers a great wildlife experience and the city of Daman provide picturesque views of the Himalayas. The temple of Dakshinkali, devoted to kali, where blood sacrifices of animals are made is a macabre but a fascinating sight to behold. The Hanuman Dhoka or the Old Royal Palace is a great place to explore as it still contains lots of personal effects, photos, newspaper clippings, furniture and other knick-knacks.
