Location: Western Africa, southwest of Algeria, bordering Mauritania, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Niger and Senegal.

Tourist Attractions: Mali is a landlocked republic in Africa, known for its scenic landscapes, fascinating medieval towns, amazing art and architecture, and Saharan caravans. Mali has extensive flat plains, spectacular deltas along the course of great River Niger, vast arid grazing land (called Sahel), undulating desert, oases and massif, providing it with a unique natural beauty. Tourist attractions in Mali include the medieval towns of Bamako, Mopti, Djenné and Timbuktu. The Bandiagara country, known for its unique Dogon people and the amazing 200 km long Bandiagara Cliff (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is also worth visiting. For wildlife enthusiasts Mali has La Boucle de Baoule National Park, sheltering a variety of amazing wildlife including giraffe, leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo and hippo.
 
Access: Many international airlines operate between Mali and various destinations in Europe, USA, and Africa. Air Afrique operates flights between Mali and New York via Dakar (Senegal) or Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire). There are also excellent road links between Mali and neighboring countries of Côte d’Ivoire Senegal, Guinea, Niger, Mauritania and Burkina Faso.

Climate: Mali enjoys subtropical to arid climate, varying according to latitude. There are mainly three seasons in Mali- rainy season (June to October), cool and pleasant winter season (October to February) and excessively hot and dry summer season (February to June).
