The Himalayan states of Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttaranchal, the forts, palaces and desert of Rajasthan, the beaches of Goa and the beaches and backwaters of Kerala, are other places to visit. The Lakshadweep and Andaman islands have pristine beaches and coral reefs. India is also known for wildlife sanctuaries where tigers, elephants and rhinos can be seen. Access: India has international airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata apart from other small upgraded airports. There are bus and train services between India and Nepal. Road and rail services between India and Pakistan exist but are intermittent. India has seaports in Mumbai and Chennai that handle international cruise liners.
Climate: Summers are very hot and humid and winters cold, except in the coastal areas, which experience a moderate temperature throughout the year. The months of July and August witness heavy monsoons all over India except the South that receive rainfall around December.
