Tourist Attractions: Honduras is known for its exceptional natural beauty, consisting of picturesque mountains, valleys, islands, bays, plains, and coasts dotted with pristine beaches. Tourist attractions in Honduras include the cities of Tegucigalpa, La Ceiba, Trujillo (famous for Spanish colonial architecture), Comayagua (former capital of Honduras), San Pedro Sula, and Copán (famous for its Mayan ruins). Other attractions include the Pico Bonito National Park, La Ceiba Island and Lake Yojoa. The picturesque Bay Islands is ideal for fishing and whitewater rafting.

Access: Honduras has four international airports. Many airlines fly to Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula from various destinations in North America and Central America. Passenger boats operate between Puerto Cortés (Honduras) and the cities of Puerto Barrios (Guatemala), Belize City (Belize), Puerto Cabezas (Nicaragua), the Caribbean islands and New Orleans (USA). There is a ferry service between Port Isabel in Texas and Puerto Cortés. Air-conditioned coaches also run to almost all Central American capitals via the Pan-American Highway and the Western Highway.

Climate: The climate of Honduras is tropical in nature, changing according to altitudes.  The north coast gets moderate to heavy rainfall and remains hot and humid throughout the year. Honduras has only two seasons - dry season (November to April) and the rainy season runs (May to October).
