Tourist attractions in Guatemala include the capital city of Guatemala City, the cities of Antigua (a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site), Quetzaltenago, and Petén (famous for Mayan ruins); El Altiplano highlands region, Lake Atitlán (ringed by volcanoes), Agua Volcano, Semuc Champey Waterfalls, Lanchúa National Park, Lanchuá Lagoon, Tikal National Park, Candelaria Caves, and Quiriguá (a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site). Visitors can also enjoy activities like swimming, boating, bird watching, sports fishing, and water-skiing.

Access: Guatemala is well connected by daily flights from various destinations in USA, Europe and Central America. There are several direct cruise lines, connecting Guatemala with North America, Europe, and the Far East. Regular bus services also connect Guatemala with neighboring countries of Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.

Climate: Guatemala enjoys a tropical climate, greatly influenced with changing altitude. While the lowlands experience hot and humid climate, the highlands have cooler climate all year round. The rainy season lasts from May to September.
