Tourist attractions in Ghana include the cities of Accra, Kumasi (the historic town famous for ruins of the Manhyia Palace and the Royal Mausoleum of the Ashanti civilization), Aburi Botanic Gardens, Ada (lake resort), Kakum National Park, Mole National Park, Owabi Wildlife Sanctuary, Boufom Wildlife Sanctuary, Banfabiri Falls, Volta Lake, and the 16th century Cape Coast Castle and Fort St Jago (both UNESCO World Heritage Sites). Visitors can also enjoy exciting activities like swimming, angling, bird watching, sailing, water-skiing, sport fishing, and more.

Access: Many airlines including British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, South African Airways, and United Airlines fly to Ghana from various destinations in Europe, USA and West Africa. Cruise liners connect Tema, 25 km east of Accra, with ports in Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon and South Africa. Regular buses and taxis services are also available between Ghana and Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire and Togo.

Climate: Ghana enjoys a hot and humid tropical climate, with a comparatively dry area along the southeast coast. Ghana has two rainy seasons – March to July and September to October.
