Tourist Attractions: The cities of Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Lubeck and Weimar are popular tourist attractions in Germany. Other interesting destinations are the picturesque Harz Mountains, Schloss Neuschwanstein, a castle built by Ludwig II in 1869, the Rhine Valley, the North Frisian Islands and the Aachen's Dom, one of the best preserved examples of Carolingian architecture. The 18th century Bradenburger Tor Gate that once delineated the boundary between East and West Germany is another tourist attraction. Stasi Museum, the erstwhile headquarters of East Germany's notorious secret police is also frequently visited by curious tourists, eager to look at communist records and spy gadgets.

Access: Germany has three major international airports at Frankfurt, Munich and Dusseldorf, which receive hundreds of international flights daily. Apart from that, low cost airlines make use of smaller airports at Hahn, Dortmund and Lubec. Reliable ferry services exist between Germany and Russia, Switzerland, Great Britain, Poland and the Scandinavian countries.

Climate: Germany experiences cool, cloudy and moist winters and mild summers along with intermittent warm mountain wind. Overall the climate is temperate in nature.
