Other sights worth seeing are the Cave city at Vardzia and the Sveti-Tskhoveli Cathedral. Intrepid tourists can try adventure trekking and hiking on the rugged mountains. While traveling, tourists should avoid the border areas and be wary of landmines and kidnappers.

Access: Several airlines operate direct flights to Georgia from European countries including U.K, France, Russia, Austria and Germany. There are also good bus services with Turkey as well as connecting boat services.

Climate: The climate in Georgia varies with each region. The coastal areas have an almost tropical climate in summer, while the inland and southern regions have a dry climate and the higher northern regions are cool all year round. Winter is chilly in all parts of Georgia.
