Tourist Attractions: The smallest country in Africa, and one of the most picturesque nations on the Atlantic Coast, Gambia is known for its incredibly beautiful and varied landscapes, ranging from lively rivers to lovely beaches, lush tropical forests, swamps, marshes and savannah grasslands. Tourist attractions in The Gambia include the towns of Banjul and Serekunda, famous for their colonial architecture and local handicrafts, Abuko Nature Reserve, Kiang West National Park, Gunjur Beach, Fort Bullen (at Barra Point), and Wassu Stone Circles (archaeological site). The River Gambia is the dominant feature of the country, offering excellent opportunities for fishing, boating, sailing and bird watching. Visitors can also enjoy exciting water sports like water-skiing, sport-fishing, windsurfing and surfing.

Access: Many airlines and charter services fly to Banjul from various destinations in Western Europe and Africa. Regular ferry services also connect Banjul with Dakar (Senegal). Taxis and buses also operate between Banjul and Dakar (Senegal) and Barra.

Climate: The Gambia enjoys a tropical climate with distinct dry and rainy seasons. While the rainy season lasts from June to mid-November, the dry season starts from mid-November and lasts till May.
