Location: Central Africa, landlocked by Cameroon, Nigeria, Libya, Central African Republic, Sudan and Niger.

Capital: N’djamena

Tourist Attractions: Chad is turbulent, especially in the border area of Sudan and the Borkou-Ennedi-Tibesti region that is beset with fighting and land mines. The places worth seeing in Chad are the dormant volcano of Emi Koussi, the Tibesti mountain range, Lake Chad and the Zakouma National Park packed with large herds of elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, monkeys, lions, antelopes and an abundant bird life.

Access: Chas has direct flights from several west and central African countries as well as France. Overland journeys are possible but considered very unsafe, especially the borders with Libya and Central African Republic and problematic if trying to cross into from Niger or Sudan.

Climate: Chad experiences a tropical climate in the south, while the northern region is arid and very hot due to the Sahara Desert.
