Location: Landlocked country in Central Africa surrounded by Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Chad, Sudan and Republic of Congo.

Tourist Attractions: CAR has witnessed and sporadic fighting and extensive looting making it an unstable and volatile country where foreigners are especially targeted by armed thugs. Places worth visiting in CAR are the waterfalls of Chutes de Boali, the timber and coffee growing area of M'Baïki where there are some permanent settlements of the Lobaye people and pygmies and the St Floris and Bamingui-Bangoran Parks that are home to the African Big Four.

Access: CAR has direct flights with Paris, New York and other African cities as well. One can cross in from any of the borders but they are subject to frequent closures, especially the borders with Chad and Sudan.

Climate: The southern part of CAR has typically hot and sultry days with the monsoon season lasting up to six months - from May to October. The northern part is also as hot but is drier.
