Tourist Attractions: Bulgaria is known for its ancient cities, museums and monasteries, scenic beaches and world-class winter resorts. Bulgaria has a nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Sofia, is known for its architectural masterpieces, opera houses and art galleries. Other tourist attractions include the museum towns of Koprivshtitsa and Plovdiv, the ancient Greek town of Nesebâr, the Rila Monastery, the 13th century Rozhen Monastery, Etâr Ethnographic Village Museum, the historic Shipka Pass, Madara National Historical and Archaeological Reserve, and St Constantine Resort.  The Thracian Kazanluk Tomb, known for its well-preserved 4th century BC murals and the Ivanovo Rock Monasteries are other attractions. Tourists can also enjoy activities like water-skiing, sailing, surfing whitewater rafting, canoeing and hiking.

Access: Many international airlines operate direct flights to Bulgaria from all major destinations in Europe including London, Paris and Munich. There are excellent rail links between the capital Sofia and Budapest, Belgrade, Bucharest, Istanbul Paris, Vienna and Munich. There are also frequent direct bus services connecting Sofia to London, Istanbul and Athens.

Climate: Bulgaria has a temperate climate, which varies according to altitude. It has four

seasons. While summers have some rainfall, while winters are snowy. The best time to visit Bulgaria is between April and September, when average temperature hovers around 23 °C.
