Tourist Attractions: Brunei is a small sultanate (state) on the northwest coast of Borneo, known for its tropical forests, beautiful beaches, and the astounding wealth of its Sultan. Tourist attractions in Brunei include the picturesque capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan, famous for its amazing golden-domed Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque, Churchill Memorial and the Royal Regalia Building; Kampong Ayer, a water village; Jerudong Park Playground, a Theme Park and the playground of the sultan; Tasik Merimbun, Brunei’s largest lake and a Heritage Park; Ulu Temburong National Park, and the beautiful beaches at Kuala Belait and Lumut Beach near Tutong. Tourists can also enjoy exciting river safaris to explore remote forest communities, longhouses, hot springs and waterfalls. Other attractions are forest walking, birdwatching, sailing, jet skiing, skin-diving and fishing.

Access: Royal Brunei Airlines along with many other international airlines operate direct flights to Brunei from all major destinations in South Asia, South East Asia, Australia and Europe. Ships and water taxis also operate between the capital Bandar Seri Begawan and the Malaysian towns of Miri and Labuan.

Climate: Brunei experiences a hot and humid tropical climate, with rainfall occurring most of the year. It receives heavy rainfall between September and January. Average temperature ranges between 24°C (75ºF) and 31°C (88°F).
