Bhutan is known for its natural beauty, pristine environment, ancient dzongs (fortresses), and traditional Bhutanese hospitality. Tourist attractions in Bhutan include the cities of Thimphu, Paro, Bumthang, Tongsa and Punakha. Tourist attractions include the Rinpung Dzong and Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monasteries in Paro; Trashi Chhoe Dzong (the fortress of Glorious Religion) and the Memorial Chorten in Thimphu; Wangdichholing Palace in Bumthang, the scenic Dechenphu Lhakhang Hills, and BlackMountainNational Park in Phobjika. Visitors can also enjoy activities like trekking, hiking, river rafting, wildlife excursions, bird watching and shopping.
Access:Druk Air, the national airline, operates direct flights to the international airport at Paro from New Delhi and Kolkata (India), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Bangkok (Thailand), Kathmandu (Nepal) and Yangon (Myanmar). Visitors can also cross borders from Bagdogra (West Bengal, India) into the border town of Phuentsholing, 180 km from Thimphu.

Climate: Bhutan enjoys a tropical climate, which varies according to altitude. It has cool pleasant winters (December to February) and hot summers (June to August), which also coincides with the rainy seasons.  The autumn season between October to November and spring season between April and June are the best times to visit Bhutan.
