The picturesque capital Andorra la Vella, is famous for its 12th century church and the Casa de la Vall, the ancient seat of government. Other tourist attractions in Andorra include the scenic ski resort of Soldeu; spa town of Escaldes-Engordany; the town of Encamp, famous for its Automobile Museum; Placa del Poble, a large public square in the capital, offering a breathtaking view of surrounding valleys and mountains; and the 9th century pre-Romanesque Church of Santa Coloma. Visitors can also enjoy activities like skiing, horse riding, swimming, trout fishing, nature walking, hiking and rock climbing.
Access: Andorra has no airport and the two nearest international airports from Andorra are Toulouse(180km) in France and Barcelona(225km) in Spain. There are rail links between Perpignan and Toulouse in France and Barcelona to La Tour de Carol, 20km from Andorra. Regular buses also connect Andorra la Vella with Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid (Spain), and Toulouse (France).
Climate: Andorra has a temperate climate characterized by warm and dry summers and snowy cold winters with round the year rainfall. May to September is the best time to visit Andorra, unless you are going for the ski season, which lasts from December to April.
