Royal
Jordanian Airlines International, the national carrier of its
namesake country, was first airborne in 1963 and christened Alia.
Royal Jordanian Airlines is based in Amman, Jordan. It operates
scheduled international services over four continents. Its main
base is Queen Alia International Airport (AMM), Amman. In a
highly-competitive industry, Royal Jordanian is recognized for its
innovative strategies and policies and consequently efficient and
reliable service.
Royal Jordanian is among the oldest airlines in the region with one of the youngest fleets around. Its fleet is constantly being upgraded and expanded to meet the growing demand for its world-class service. Gradually, Royal Jordanian are phasing out the A310 and replacing them with more modern and larger aircraft. Four long-haul A340 now take you direct and non-stop all the way to New York, Chicago, Detroit and Bangkok. Four A310's operate on long / medium-haul destinations, in addition to five A320's and two A321's aircraft that operate on short and medium-haul destinations. Two A310's are now dedicated for cargo, and two F28's for flights to short destinations in addition to our new two Q400 AC.
With the recent addition of new routes to Aleppo, Barcelona, Khartoum, Royal Jordanian can now take the flyers to over 50 destinations in the Middle East, Europe, North America, the Far East and Asia.It also has Code-share agreements with airlines like America West, Air Canada.
Subsidiary Royal Wings started Royal Jordanian's first domestic service to Aqaba using a Fokker F-27 plane on 10 February 1996. Royal Wings now operates Bombardier Dash 8 Q300 aircraft on both scheduled and charter services to destinations in Egypt, Cyprus, Israel and Palestine.
