Founded in 1949, Garuda Indonesia is the national airline of Indonesia. Its main flights hub is the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta while the Ngurah Rai Airport and the Juanda International Airport serve as its secondary hubs.
With around 57 aircrafts in its fleet, Garuda Indonesia offers flights to around 43 destinations around the world. They include Hong Kong, Osaka, Tokyo, Taipei, Singapore, Jeddah, Riyadh, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.
Owned by the Indonesian government, Garuda Indonesia also offers a frequent flyers programme called Garuda Frequent Flyer. Besides, its member lounge is known as the Garuda Lounge.
Garuda Indonesia was besieged by a number of economic problems in the 1990’s. However, it has considerably recovered from the crisis and is doing well at present.
